Political Science Department

The department of political science started in Indira Gandhi Arts & Commerce college, Kalmeshwar 1984. From 1984 to 1989, Prof. Ashok Ganvir Sir (M.A. M.Phil.) worked as the head Department of Political Science. Then after, from 1989 to 2000, Prof. P.P. Sonone was the Head of the Department of Political Science. Prof. K.G. Karmarkar sir was the principal of the college. Then after from 2001 till date, Prof. Ashol Ganvir sir has been in charge of the Department of Political Science.

While taking over the responsibility of political Science Department variour activities were Implemented by Pro. Ashok Ganvir sir. He also guided many students on the importance of Political Science and the utility of the subject in our day to day life. He also guided the students about the career opportunities in this subject. Many students were encouraged by Prof. Ashok Ganvir sir to purser ligher education in the political Science subject under the supervision of Prof. Ashok Ganvir students and student have visited many government institutions like vidhan Bhavan, High Court, Muncipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad etc. to know the administrator work of the government.

AIMS:

• To create interest of the subject in the students.
• It also aims to in govern in accordance of the constitution of India.
• To develop good citizens of the country.
• To train India’s future political and civic leaders.

• To encourage new ideas and activities that upholds and maintains Indian culture.
